Sized at 16.2 cm, Lenovo Phab 2 Plus is the Lenovo's latest smartphone launched in India. The 6.4 - inch Full HD display phablet is made of aluminium alloy and features 2.5D curved glass design on the front. The Phab 2 Plus is powered by MediaTek’s MTK8783 octa-core processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage expandable to 128GB via microSD card.

While there was a dip in the sale of 6+ inch screen smartphone towards the end of 2015 in India but by the beginning of the 2016 there was a sharp hi-tick for large screen smartphones and the smartphone maker finds it the perfect time to bring out their phablet with a hope that the media guzzling youngsters will lap it up for the experience, Amit Doshi, Head, Consumer and Digital Marketing, Lenovo India, said, “We are seeing this whole new generation of smartphone users who are very very high on data usage and very low on voice... a lot of youngsters today have moved from text chat to voice chat and the next generation of users is already moving from voice chat to chatting with images... so we are looking at people seeking bigger and richer experience with their smartphones and 6.4 inch screen pushes the envelope on that front for us.” Lenovo Phab 2 Plus is priced at Rs 14,999, it’s the successor of the original Phab Plus device. The phone will be exclusively available on Amazon starting today.

The phone also comes with an Augmented Reality (AR) mode with the camera where a user can use special effects and images like background and cartoons on the pictures and videos clicked from the phone, clearly targeting the young smartphone users.

Apart from the AR powered smartphone camera, the smartphone maker paid quite a lot of attention on the camera front. Lenovo Phab 2 Plus has a 13MP each dual rear camera with Futjistu Milbeaut Image Signal Processor, which the company claims gives DSLR-style effects. The pixel size 1.4um and it has F/2.0. A user can choose between using single camera or dual. One can also create the bokeh effect with the help of dual cameras even after a picture is clicked and it has an 8MP front camera. The dual SIM device is backed by a 4,050 mAh battery. Lenovo’s Phab 2 Plus is equipped with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Audio Capture 5.1 surround sound support. Sensors on the Lenovo Phab 2 Plus include G-Sensor, Proximity Sensor, L-Sensor, E-Compass, Gyroscope Hall Sensor.

It clearly looks like the phone is aimed at the young consumers with features specially designed for the new gen media guzzling smartphone users but, in the spirit of the current top world news, if you have hands as small as Donald Trump’s, you might want to stay away from this one!
