Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s period movie, titled Mirziya, reportedly has a scene that costs Rs 11 crore. For this scene (which was shot recently in Rajasthan) the producers had beefed up the security and called in for extra 45 bouncers—simply to safeguard the vintage jewellery worth Rs 11 crore that was used in the recent shooting sequence.

The producers are trying their best to maintain the confidentiality of the project, which is rumoured to be based on Mirza Sahiba, the Punjabi folklore. Even photography is banned on the sets.

The movie is going to mark the debut of Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher. The scene, which is the wedding sequence of the lead actress, is said to be a turning point in the movie. For this particular scene, she would be seen wearing vintage jewellery worth Rs 11 crore. Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra was worried about the security of the jewellery, owing to which he called for extra security on the sets.

Both Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher belong to families that have deep connections in the movie industry. While Harshvardhan is veteran actor Anil Kapoor’s son, Saiyami Kher is the granddaughter of Usha Kiran, who was one of the most successful actresses in 1950s and 1960s. Saiyami is also the niece of Tanvi Azmi, who is married to Baba Azmi, Shabana Azmi’s brother.
