Ivy League admission letters just went out - here are the acceptance rates for the Class of 2020
At 5 p.m. on Thursday, hundreds of thousands of anxious high schoolers found out if they were accepted or rejected into the Ivy League.
Here's what we know about who got in:
Brown University accepted 2,919 from 32,390 applicants, according to a spokesperson for the school. The admissions rate for the Class of 2020 was 9%. Last year, Brown accepted 2,580 of 30,397 applicants, an 8.49% acceptance rate.
Columbia University accepted 2,193 from 36,292 applicants, according to a spokesperson. The admissions rate for the Class of 2020 was 6.04%. Last year, Columbia accepted 2,228 from 36,250 applications, a 6.1% acceptance rate.
Cornell University accepted 6,277 from 44,966 applicants, according to a spokesperson. The admissions rate for the Class of 2020 was 13.96%. Last year, Cornell accepted 6,234 students from 41,907 applications, a 14.9% acceptance rate.
The University of Pennsylvania accepted 3,661 from 38,918 applicants, according to a university press release. The admissions rate for the Class of 2020 was 9.4%. Last year, UPenn accepted 3,697 from 37,267 applicants, a 9.9% acceptance rate.
Princeton University accepted 1,894 from 29,303 applicants, according to its website. The admissions rate for the Class of 2020 was 6.46%. Last year, Princeton accepted 1,908 students from 27,290 applications, a 6.99% acceptance rate.
