Karnataka government sets yet another example-access 4187 services on single App!

After setting an example with its e-mandi concept, now the south Indian state of Karnataka will be setting another landmark. The central government has now asked Karnataka to share details of state’s mobile-governance platform which integrates 4,187 services, both government and private, into one app, Mobile-One .
As per an Economic Times report, theNarendra Modi government is planning to facilitate other states with a similar technology and scale it to the national level.
The mobile app, which is growing at a rate of 10% every month and has generated business worth Rs 5 crore, is just seven months old and was launched by PresidentPranab Mukherjee . Karnataka Chief Minister , who is not so tech-savvy made it a pet-project and the app, so far, has got 1.25 crore hits and 1.5 lakh downloads.
Rathan U Kelkhar, CEO of the Centre for e-governance, Karnataka, told ET, "We got a letter of appreciation from the Union IT and Telecom minister Ravishankar Prasad. A team from the Centre came down to see how we are implementing it. It is a one-of-a-kind App and we are making it as vibrant as possible."
Under the umbrella of Digital India, PM Modi’s prime focus is mobile apps. He plans to reach out to folks of his nation through mobile devices so that they would be aware of the services and schemes government is bringing in for them.
National e-Governance Division President and CEO Anoop Kumar Agarwal has said that the issue was of scaling it up nationally was "under examination right now. But this is a strong concept and it will happen across the states in near future."
Not just this, but theKarnataka state government also takes feedback from its users and considers expert advices. IIT-B (International Institute of Information and Technology, Bangalore) and IAMAI (Internet and Mobile Association of India) have been providing their valuable advices to the state on how they can provide a better user experience.
