The retailer's website was offline for a period around 11:30 a.m. on Friday morning.

Lowes is currently selling a number of Black Friday deals on its website. The retailer kicked off in-store Black Friday deals on Friday at 6 a.m.

Black Friday traffic taking down websites is a common problem for retailers as the holiday shopping season kicks off.

British video game store GAME also crashed soon after it debuted its Black Friday deals. South African online retailer Takealot experienced similar Black Friday website problems.

Last year, Macy's website crashed under heavy traffic. In 2015, Target had issues with its ecommerce site.
