Macy's is closing eight stores in early 2019 as part of planned closures announced over two years ago.
In August 2016, Macy's said that it would close 100 stores. Since then, it has been shuttering these locations as their leases expire.
The company said that regular, non-seasonal employees who are laid off and unable to find a job at nearby Macy's stores will be eligible for severance.
