Myntra does a Flipkart, re-launches its mobile site

Myntra followed the footsteps of its parent-Flipkart- and re-launched its mobile site.

Myntra was one of the first few ones to shut down desktop operations to go app-only, a move which kick-started the debate on whether it is a right way to target more consumers.

Through Myntra’s mobile site, fashionistas will be able to access select product categories but will only be able to purchase the product through the app.

Reportedly, this move came after it was observed that around 90% of its traffic and 70% of its business was coming from mobile phones as of April this year.

"It isn't about the money but just the realisation that if we don't build (a mobile-only product), somebody else is going to build it and whoever builds that is going to be the winner," Myntra CTO Shamik Sharma had said.

Last month, Flipkart had re-launched its mobile site-Flipkart Lite.
