PlayStation 4 owners love hip-hop and Drake, according to Spotify
Ever since Sony's PlayStation 4 got Spotify last year, gamers have been swapping out standard game soundtracks for their own custom songs. It's a pretty great way to integrate your own musical preferences into games.
So, what are people listening to? Mostly hip-hop, specifically Drake - that's according to a one-year anniversary post that Spotify published on Friday morning.

As it turns out, PlayStation 4 owners in the US are overwhelmingly interested in hip-hop over all other music genres. "For gamers in the US, hip-hop is by far the favorite genre," Spotify's post says.
The music selection gets a bit broader if you look at worldwide usage numbers, though it's still overwhelmingly hip-hop. Here are the top tracks streamed through Spotify on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Xperia devices:
- "Lean On (feat. MØ & DJ Snake)" by Major Lazer
- "See You Again (feat. Charlie Puth) - From Furious 7 by Wiz Khalifa
- "Can't Feel My Face" by The Weeknd
- "Hotline Bling" by Drake
- "Trap Queen" by Fetty Wap
To be clear, this isn't just songs streamed while people are playing games. Spotify on PlayStation 4 works whether you're playing a game or not - you can stream whatever you want, whenever you want. That's evident when you look at the most popular hour of the week to stream Spotify: Friday from 8:00 - 9:00 p.m.
But it's not all Drake dancing in colored rooms and not being able to feel your face. The top artists include the likes of The Biebs and 8-mile's own Marshall Mathers.

We'd guess that the majority of this stuff isn't being used to replace game soundtracks - who wants to listen to Drake's party music while playing "Bloodborne?" - but it's still noteworthy how many people are using the PlayStation 4 as a stereo.
