  • Hawkeye isn't in any of the trailers for "Avengers: Infinity War."
  • He isn't even on the poster.
  • Several days ago, Jeremy Renner, the actor who plays him, posted a fake magazine cover with Hawkeye on it to his Instagram.

Remember Hawkeye? The actor who plays him is trying to remind you.

Actor Jeremy Renner, who plays Hawkeye, is trying to get Hawkeye the attention he deserves - or poking fun at how much he's being ignored. And since no trailers or posters for the movie have his character in them, he's taking Hawkeye promotion into his own hands.

In case you forgot, Hawkeye is the bland Avenger with the bows and arrows. He doesn't have any super powers or personality beyond that, but he does have a secret family, which was revealed in "Age of Ultron." His house is where Captain America and Iron Man chop wood in an angsty manner.

Hawkeye isn't in any of the two trailers for "Avengers: Infinity War," out April 27.

And to make matters even worse, he isn't even on the poster, even though there appears to be plenty of room for him:

Looks like Hawkeye got bumped in favor of Teen Groot.

This is something Renner has a right to be bitter about. Hawkeye has never been the most interesting Avenger despite attempts to make him so (secret family!), but he has been with the team from the very beginning. For the entire first movie, he was brainwashed by Loki, which made his character development difficult to pull off in a compelling way.

On Tuesday, three days before the new "Infinity War" trailer came out, Renner posted a telling image on Instagram:

The post features Renner as Hawkeye on the cover of Entertainment Weekly. Sadly, this a fan made magazine cover. Renner wasn't likely asked to be on the cover of Entertainment Weekly, because Hawkeye isn't even important enough to the Avengers movies to be in the trailers or on the poster.

Despite what the movie's promotion suggests, Hawkeye is actually in "Infinity War," according to directors Anthony and Joe Russo, who have said that Hawkeye will be on a solo journey. Or, he could also just be dead and they don't want to spoil that.
