Reliance Power has invested $3 billion to establish 3,000 megawatt mega power plant in Bangladesh. This will be Bangladesh’s largest foreign investment. It also looks to have a million tonnes floating LNG import terminal.

The company plans to set up the power plant in three years. It will use equipment it had previously contracted for its Samalkot project in Andhra Pradesh

The equipment are from General Electric (GE), USA and the other global suppliers.

Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) will provide land for the power project at appropriate locations.

The FSRU terminal is planned to be set up at Maheshkhali Island in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh.
