Korean tech giant, Samsung faces the heat as there have been multiple cases globally of Samsung's new flagship phone Galaxy Note 7 catching fire, “35 cases that have been reported globally and we are currently conducting a thorough inspection with our suppliers to identify possible affected batteries in the market. However, because our customers’ safety is an absolute priority at Samsung, we have delayed sales of the Galaxy Note7 in India.”

The company said it acknowledges the inconvenience this could cause in the market, but said the move is aimed at ensuring that “Samsung continues to deliver the highest quality products to our customers”. The company will be looking at replacing the devices sold but it could take a couple of weeks.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was supposed to go on sale in India from September 2 after having globally launched the device on August 2 in New York. Soon after the global launch of the latest flagship phone Samsung received multiple reports of the battery exploding while charging the phone.

In India, pre-orders for Galaxy Note 7 had been closed in August but as of now the customers are getting an apology for inconvenience from Samsung, “Thank you for pre-booking Galaxy Note7. We regret to inform that delivery of your Galaxy Note 7 is being delayed. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. You can be assured that we are working hard to deliver your Galaxy Note7 to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding.”
