Something big is in store as Alibaba’s senior executives are camping at Paytm, working on integration

Senior level executives of Alibaba and Paytm are closely working with each other to convert Indian company's marketplace into Alibaba's ecommerce portal.
As per reports, Chinese executives are camping at Alibaba to see integration ofAlipay with Paytm's ecommerce site.
Alibaba and its affiliateAnt Financial have 40% stake Paytm.
However, Paytm did not confirm any such development and said its working relationship with the Alibaba group sees teams from both sides visiting each other's offices regularly.
"This allows for healthy discussions on ways to enhance our products and services,” a spokesperson said in an emailed response to ET's queries.
Speculations are rife that Alibaba wants to debut its business-to-consumer site Tmall in India and morph the Paytm marketplace into Tmall.
Recently, Alibaba Group's global managing director, K Guru Gowrappan, joined Paytm's board.
Upon his joining, Paytm founderVijay Shekhar Sharma said Gowrappan would guide the company through executing key strategic initiatives.
