South India shopped most on Snapdeal this Diwali

South India provided the largest share to Snapdeal’s Festival sales account for 35-40% of total sales for Snapdeal. The company said the Diwali sales jumped eight times since last year.
Senior vice president for market development Vishal Chadha, however, didn't reveal the value of the sales.
Snapdeal posted a ten-fold hike in new users and a nine-fold jump in goods orders in South India. The top categories include sarees, gold coins and precious jewellery.
Chadha said. "The website received a traffic of 12 million visits during the peak days ... along with 12 orders per second."

Around 50,000 sellers posted an increase in sales during the period and 500 of them recorded growth of at least fivefold.
