Teens still love Instagram best, but Snapchat is gaining fast
Over the years, there have been periodic panics about teens abandoning Facebook, but the latest stats suggest the slide is over for now. According to these stats from Piper Jaffray compiled by Statista, 14% of US teens say that Facebook is the most important social network to them - the same as 6 months ago.
More important, Facebook-owned Instagram is still clearly on top with 33% of teens in the US. So overall, 45% of teens say that one Facebook property or another is their most important social network.
But Snapchat is coming up fast, gaining six percentage points in the last six months. No wonder Mark Zuckerberg tried to buy it for $3 billion back in 2013.
