The Revenant, a film starring Leonardo DiCaprio has made its debut in India today. The Central Board of Film Certification approved the movie with no footage removed (take that, Deadpool and Spectre).

Set in 1823, this film is loosely based on a true story and outlines his tale of loss, survival and revenge. The story is about one fur trapper Hugh Glass (DiCaprio) who’s abandoned by his comrades after he is mauled by a bear. Now Hugh has to use every resource to survive in the wilderness. Actor Tom Hardy also appears in this frontier thriller, directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu. It’s the work of perfectionists.

Here’s the trailer:

BI Says: Leonardo has given everything to this film. That’s from the very first frame. His and Tom Moody’s roles are so delightfully nuanced, they actually make you forget them as Hollywood superstars.

Set in a time when America was still the ‘Wild West’, the cinematography mates brilliantly with the graceful scores by Ryuichi Sakamoto and Alva Noto offer a delicious combo for viewers to hog on.
