Welcome to Birmingham's 50,000-square-foot Guitar House. Auctioned in 2003 for $3.95 million, the home was listed in 2011 for $17.9 million.
By early 2015, the listing price fell to $9.9 million.
Architect Bill Sheppard modeled the design after historic castles in Italy and France. As you walk through the foyer, don't forget to look up.

House says the home's drapes cost upwards of $400,000, as did the custom carpets.

Between the golf course, the stately office, and this billiards room, the estate makes for an excellent space to entertain business guests. There's also a commercial office space on the home's lower level.
A detached, 3,000-square-foot caretaker's house has two bedrooms, two baths, two offices, a workshop, and a two-car garage. The main home's nine-car garage can fit up to 12 vehicles.
With a riding arena, two pastures, and a six-stall barn with a lofted apartment, this is also an equestrian estate.
The grounds include an oval pool with dual cabanas and that legendary guitar-shaped driveway.
