The emojis in Slack are now available in different skin tone options
Slack
Business Insider spotted the change when typing in  for the corresponding emoji, which suddenly suddenly gave an option to choose from six skin tones.
It's not only for the thumbs up icon, though. Any of the "hands" in the Emoji Deluxe set on Slack now have six diverse skin tones to choose from.
Apple was the first to include diverse emoji when it updated its mobile operating system in April. While Apple's update included hundreds of multiracial emoji, so far it looks like the Slack set is limited to hands and certain face emojis. Selecting a happy face doesn't give you additional options, while the emoji for man provides the full range of skin tone options. Slack confirmed that the new emojis rolled out on desktop and mobile Monday.
We made a little GIF showing how the diverse emojis work. Each one is labeled "skin tone 2-6" if you choose anything other than the default yellow hand.
