This could be the answer to China's massive traffic problem

Vehicles are seen stuck in a traffic jam near a toll station as people return home at the end of a week-long national day holiday, in Beijing, China.

Housing the world's largest population, China is not immune to it's municipal issues, such as traffic jams. One of the most legendary ones included the China National Highway 110 traffic jam, where thousands of vehicles were stuck for 60 miles in a span of ten days. 

To resolve this crisis, the TEB Technology Development Company designed the Transit Elevated Bus.

The vehicle glides over traffic lanes while transporting 1,200 passengers in elevated compartments.

Here's what that looks like:

So far, five cities in China have contracted with the company to develop tracks for the TEB.

Powered by solar energy, the price for each of these buses would run $4.5 million, which is estimated to be just one-sixteenth of the cost of a subway train.
