Few people are aware of the countless technology solutions Panasonic has been developing for the automotive, avionics, sports, and entertainment industries.

For decades, Panasonic has been known for its impressive range of tech products, from televisions and cameras to grooming accessories and home appliances. But what often goes unrecognized are the countless technology solutions the company develops for businesses across the globe.

Entertainment, sports, automotive, avionics, retail, and renewable energy are just a few of the industries where Panasonic has implemented innovative solutions - and the list grows every year. Leveraging its technology expertise and, most importantly, consumer behavior insights, the global technology giant has successfully created solutions for industry heavyweights such as Ford, Lufthansa, and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. And, in turn, Panasonic has helped transform customers' experiences for the better.

Here are just a few ways Panasonic is revolutionizing the avionics, automotive, sports, and entertainment industries.

Avionics: Flying above customer expectations

If you've ever enjoyed an in-flight movie or watched TV on the headrest in front of you, chances are it was made possible by Panasonic Avionics. For more than 35 years, Panasonic's avionics division has developed in-flight entertainment and communications solution for more than 300 airlines - many of which you've probably flown.

In 2014 alone, there were more than 1.5 billion entertainment experiences aboard Panasonic-equipped aircrafts. And it appears the company has no plans of slowing down. Panasonic's latest in-flight innovation comes in the form of economy class seats known as "jazz seats." The future infotainment systems are expected to feature multiple ports for HDMI and USB, inductive charging for tablets and phones, customizable mood lighting, and 1080p HD monitor - the largest and highest performance screen in economy class today.

Panasonic Enterprise Solutions: Bringing fans closer to the sports they love

When Panasonic sought to build large-scale LED video boards for stadiums and indoor arenas across the country, the goal was to elevate the fan experience by giving fans a more immersive, one-of-a-kind experience that they couldn't get at home.

Panasonic's digital display solutions are also engineered to help facility owners drive revenues by providing sponsors with more dynamic branding platforms.

"[Panasonic] delivers integrated, customized video solutions that address customer concerns and meets their needs in a way that no one else can," says Jim Doyle, President of Panasonic Enterprise Solutions.

This past spring, the company installed 20 high-definition video boards at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) prior to the Indianapolis 500, the most attended sports event in the world. In doing so, it more than doubled the size of IMS' original boards, giving 98% of spectators an unobstructed view of a Panasonic LED screen. Each of the 20 screens can broadcast live video, race data, social media content, and even weather updates to fans in the speedway, in real-time.

Panasonic has installed high-end LED screens at many other sports arenas and entertainment facilities, including Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field, Ohio Stadium, and Churchill Downs racetrack, which features the world's first 4K large screen display in an outdoor sports facility. It's not only sports fans that are reaping the benefits of Panasonic technology. Outdoor venues like Times Square and L.A. Live are also equipped with captivating Panasonic-designed LED screens that tourists and locals are able to enjoy.

The Ford Sync 3 infotainment system will be as fast and responsive as the driver's mobile device.

Consumers want things fast. Faster internet, faster phones, faster everything. When Ford Motor Company needed help to create a quicker communications and entertainment experience for its customers, it turned to Panasonic for help. The electronics company leveraged the insights from more than 22,000 customer responses that Ford gathered to get a better understanding of what drivers needed from their in-car system.

The result: Ford SYNC® 3, Ford's most advanced infotainment system yet. The Ford SYNC® 3 is as fast and responsive as a mobile device. Owners of 2016 North America Ford vehicles can experience a quicker and more intuitive system featuring responsive touch-screen capabilities, conversational voice recognition, and a more simple graphic interface. In addition to Ford Motor Company, Panasonic Automotive currently works with General Motors, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Volkswagen, BMW, Daimler and others.
