A man has tattooed the color-changing dress on his leg

24-year-old Daniel Howland has tattooed the now infamous dress (you know the one) on his leg, where it will live forever.

Buzzfeed reports the Texas native said "he had some extra space on his leg," and "didn't see a reason not to."

Howland already has lots of tattoos, Buzzfeed also points out.

The dress made a major splash Thursday night after Cates Holderness Buzzfeed posted the mysterious photo to the site at the prompt of a Tumblr user who submitted the pic.

The dress, which looks white and gold to some and black and blue to others, was the topic of conversation well into the night and into the next day on digital media sites, major news networks, and just about everywhere else. 

People were calling the story "the viral singularity."

Business Insider found the women behind the photo of the dress and confirmed that the dress is actually blue and black.

Now, Howland will make sure the memory of the dress never dies, even as the rest of the world moves on.

Buzzfeed reports,

Howland sees the dress as blue and black, but briefly glimpsed it as white and gold after a couple of drinks. Nick York, a 19-year-old tattoo artist who works with Howland in their Austin shop, and who did the piece for free, has only been able to see white and gold.

Twitter users have been blasting Howland's choice, and "The Lad Bible" called it "the worst tattoo you'll see today," which offended Howland.

Howland's in on the joke.

"I think it's a stupid tattoo. That's why it's funny. Because it's stupid," Howland told Buzzfeed.
