Here are the top 15 global brands of 2021, as per Future Brand Index

1. ASML

Last year ASML, the company on which the world’s chipmakers depend, made an impressive entry to the FutureBrand Index, making its debut at number eight. Right now, this company is out in front – even ahead of the mighty Apple.

2. Apple

Last year, Apple wrestled back the crown and took top billing in the FutureBrand Index, having last occupied the number one spot in 2016. It is the only brand from 2020 which has managed to hold on to a Top Five spot.

3. Prousus

Another new entrant last year, when it came in at 11 in the ranking, Prosus NV has climbed 8 places since 2020 to secure the number three spot.

4. Danaher

A Fortune 500 science and technology innovator, Danaher took the fourth spot on Future Brand's list and 70th spot on PwC's Global Top 100 Companies.

5. NextEra Energy Resources

NextEra Energy Resources, world's largest operator of wind and solar projects based in Florida, is up by 8 ranks on the list. The only utilities representative in this year’s Top Five, the company scores more strongly on its Experience attributes than Purpose.

6. TSMC

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company is up by 19 ranks

7. Moutai

Liquor brand based in China is down by 2 ranks this year

8. Pingan

Pingan, a Chinese holding conglomerate whose subsidiaries mainly deal with insurance, banking, asset management, financial services, is up by 7 ranks this year

9. Reliance Industries Limited

Last year’s Index showed Reliance enter the top 10 for the very first time. Apart from that, Tata Consultancy Services is the only other Indian company to be featured in the Top 100 this year.

10. Microsoft

Technology giant Microsoft is down by 7 ranks this year. It stood 7th on the list in 2020.

11. Amazon

American multinational conglomerate, Amazon, which focuses on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence, is up by 13 ranks this year.

12. Toyota

Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer Toyota took 12th spot on Future Brand's list. It stood 14th in 2020.

13. Samsung

Technology company Samsung is down by 10 ranks on Future Brand's list and stood 15th on PwC's top global brands list.

14. Tesla

American electric vehicle and clean energy company Tesla is up by 6 ranks this year. According to the report, companies perceived to be moving ahead, that have a strong purpose and a clear vision for the future -- are more likely to feature on the list.

15. Intel

Technology brand Intel is up by 6 ranks this year. It stood 30th on PwC's 2021 list.
