The past 14 months have been painful and stressful for many of us in different ways. Indian Premier League was a welcome distraction for some people this year, acting as a bandaid on our wounds -- temporary yet effective. While there were many who had felt that IPL should not have been held this year, or could have been suspended much earlier than it was, there were others who said something like an IPL was important because it acted as a distraction from the grimness that otherwise surrounds us.

As the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season began, brands poured in their enthusiastic advertisements either celebrating the country's love for the sport, which is treasured like a religion, or paid tribute to our corona warriors for their unwavering spirit.

The opening match of Vivo IPL 2021 clocked 323 million total impressions on Star India Network this year, revealed BARC. The opening match between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore received a tremendous response, bigger than opening matches of all other IPL editions held previously other than Dream11 IPL 2020 and 42% higher than the edition in 2019.

While IPL is postponed, it left by giving us temporary relief. So, to distract you for a bit from the reality so that you can go back to helping our fellow citizens with a smile, here are a few ads from IPL this year that won our hearts in no particular order:
