While TikTok was the most downloaded non-gaming app worldwide for October 2021 with more than 57 million installs, Indian social commerce platform Meesho became the 8th most downloaded non-gaming app for the month, according to a recent Sensor Tower blog.


The platform revealed that Meesho saw over 57 million downloads across the App Store and the Google Play Store from August to October, 2021, as per App Annie, making it the most downloaded app across all categories in India.

In a statement, Meesho said, "The company has seen installations in India grow by over 120% quarter-on-quarter in Q3 2021, outranking all other e-commerce platforms in the country for quarterly downloads."

The blog also revealed that Instagram was the second most installed non-gaming app worldwide last month with more than 56 million installs, which represented a 31% increase from October 2020. The countries with the largest number of Instagram installs were from India at 39%, followed by Brazil at 6%. Facebook, WhatsApp, and Telegram rounded out the top five most installed non-gaming apps worldwide for the month.
