WHO collaborates with ‘Dude With Sign’ to spread awareness around Coronavirus

WHO is doing all in its might to reach out to as many people as it can to talk about Coronavirus
  • After launching the #SafeHands challenge, WHO has collaborated with Instagram's 'Dude With Sign' to talk about Covid-19.
  • The aim is to raise awareness about key practices and to link people to reliable information around Coronavirus.

It seems like the World Health Organization (WHO) is doing all in its might to reach out to as many people as it can, to dispel myths around the novel Coronavirus and help clear up confusions in people’s minds around the virus. After launching the #SafeHands challenge, WHO, along with Instagram, has collaborated with the immensely popular Instagram page, ‘Dude With Sign’ to raise awareness about Covid-19.

In times of panic like this, what is of utmost importance is that people stop believing on misinformation. The aim of this post is to reach out to an engaged audience who will take a look at the post and act accordingly, and responsibly.

It's not difficult to guess why WHO chose to collaborate with ‘Dude With Sign’. Barely 5 months after starting the page, Dude With Sign already has over 6.2 million followers on Instagram. The page is run by Seth Phillips who drops truth bombs on people of New York by putting them up on cardboard. What makes the posts so popular are that they are protests around issues that all of us go through, thereby making them very relatable.

Nine hours after being posted, the post already has over a million likes on Instagram. Here’s hoping the post is able to achieve what it aims and helps people take care of themselves.
