"Housejoy seeks to provide customers with a differentiated experience in shopping for home services. This aligns with our mission in India - to transform the way India buys and sells," said Amit Agarwal, Vice President and Country Manager, Amazon India, in a statement.
Housejoy, which appointed former Flipkart VP of Product Management Saran Chatterjee as its CEO in September, will utilise the funding on strategic acquisitions, partnerships and to build the team besides strengthening the technology.
The startup has a network of around 10,000 service providers and gets 4,000 requests every day.
Housejoy provides home services such as plumbing, electrical, computer repairs. It is popular for make-up services and runs its beauty business under a separate brand called Beautyjoy.
Housejoy will face competition from UrbanClap, another venture in the same segment, as it raised Rs 165 crore from Silicon Valley-based investor Bessemer Venture Partners.
