Amazon rushes to bring Kishore Biyani’s Future Group online, days after Mukesh Ambani’s JioMart launch
  • Future Retail, which runs the chain of Big Bazaar stores, had already launched its online service with Amazon across 22 centres.
  • Future Retail will list on Amazon Prime for grocery and merchandise delivery in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.

E-commerce giant Amazon signed a long-term business agreement with Kishore Biyani’s Future Group. As per the deal, Amazon will become Future Retail’s authorized online sales channel.

“FRL’s national footprint of stores offering thousands of products across fashion, appliances, home, kitchen and grocery will now be available to millions of customers shopping on Amazon.in, in hours across 25+ cities,” said Amit Agarwal, SVP & Country Head, Amazon India.

Future Retail runs the chain of Big Bazaar stores, and had already launched its online service with Amazon across 22 centres.

As per the latest agreement, Future Retail will list on Amazon Prime for grocery and merchandise delivery in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. The group’s Big Bazaar and FoodHall will also be available online, soon.

The companies also signed a deal over Future’s consumer products – Tasty Treat for snacks, Voom for fabric care, Dreamery for dairy, Karmiq for dry fruits, Mother Earth for organic staples, Kara for personal care, CleanMate for household cleaning etc.

“This arrangement will allow us to build upon each other’s strengths in the physical and digital space so that customers benefit from the best services, products, assortment and price,” said Kishore Biyani, chairman & managing director, Future Retail.

The move by Future and Amazon comes days after Reliance made its e-commerce debut in grocery with JioMart. Reliance’s JioMart is currently available in Navi Mumbai, Thane and Kalyan - suburbs of Mumbai.
