Assembly elections 2019: Poll Schedule for Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, Odisha and Arunachal Pradesh

The 4 Indian states will go to election in April next month to elect their MLAs in parallel to the general elections. These states are Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.


While the 3 candidates have already won unopposed in Arunachal Pradesh, the other three states will see a tough fight between the parties.


The three BJP candidates from Arunachal Pradesh have won the elections unopposed without a vote being cast. This is due to the rivals candidates either being disqualified to contest elections or them withdrawing their nomination. The winners were announced on the last date for withdrawing the nominations.


Taba Tedir from Yachuli seat in Lower Subansiri district, Phurpa Tsering from Dirang seat in West Kameng district and Kento Jini from Along East constituency in West Siang district have won the elections in Arunachal Pradesh.


The results in these states are expected to be announced around 30th May considering that the election commission has filed an affidavit in the supreme court asking for a 5-day extension to account for the time that will go into verifying VVPATs of 50% of the EVMs.
