Later, she joined news agency Indo-Asian News Service (IANS) for its national desk as a senior sub-editor. She has also contributed features and covered events for IANS. Besides journalism, her interest also lies in music and holds a B. Ed degree in classical music (vocal) from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad.
