The Jacksonville Jaguars lost to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game and quarterback Blake Bortles took it as hard as anybody.
In some respect, Bortles may have played the best game of his career on the biggest stage. He outplayed Tom Brady for most of the game, finishing 23-36 with 293 yards and a touchdown. At one point, the Jags had built a 20-10 lead in the fourth quarter.
But in the end, it was Brady who led the comeback for the Patriots, throwing a touchdown pass to Danny Amendola with under three minutes to go to take the lead.
Two minutes later, with the game no longer in doubt and the Pats taking a knee, CBS cameras zoomed in on Bortles who appeared to be in tears.
Bortles erased a lot of doubts with his performance, but that was little consolation after the game.
