Najim Laachraoui, a prime suspect in bombings that rocked Brussels on Tuesday, has been arrested on Wednesday from the Anderlecht district of the Belgian city, as reported by Belgian newspaper DH.

He was arrested because of his alleged involvement in the bombings as he was seen with suspected suicide bombers at Brussels airport in a hat and white coat on the grainy CCTV footage from the airport minutes.

To confirm their suspicions, Laachraoui's DNA was also found in houses that were used by the Paris attackers last year. Reports suggest that he had travelled to Hungary in September with Salah Abdeslam, the prime suspect in Paris attacks.

The suicide bombers seen with Laachraoui were identified as brothers Khalid and Brahim El Bakraoui. The airport and metro station blasts have killed 30 people and injured more than 200.
