Mobiles, cancer medicines and more to get cheaper
Here are the things that will become cheaper:Mobile phones
The basic customs duty (BCD) has been reduced to 15% on mobile phones, mobile chargers and the printed circuit board assembly (PCBA). This is expected to bring down the prices of mobile phones in the country.Cancer medicines
The government has exempted three cancer medicines from customs duty, bringing down their prices and making them affordable for cancer patients.Gold, silver and platinum
The customs duty on gold and silver has been reduced to 6%, while the duty on platinum has been reduced to 6.5%.Minerals
The customs duty on 25 minerals has been exempted by the government.Fish feed and shrimps
The BCD on fish feed and shrimp has been reduced to 5%.
Leather goods
The BCD on leather goods has also decreased.
Things that will get expensive
While certain products will get cheaper after the Budget, some products will also become dearer.
Plastic goods
The BCD on plastic goods has been increased from 10% to 25%. This means plastic goods imported from other countries will become expensive.
Telecom equipment
