Auto Expo 2020: Mahindra showcases three EVs and a concept car called Funster
In spite of a slump in sales across the auto industry, top carmaker Mahindra decided to push forward with more launches. The company showcased three EVs and a concept car at the auto show.

The Auto Expo 2020, the 15th edition of India’s biggest motor show is underway in Greater Noida.

The company announced the launch of its affordable eKUV100, which is the most affordable EV in India. The company also showcased the Mahindra Atom, an electric urban mobility solution for last mile connectivity. The company also showcased the e-XUV300 and the concept car Funster.

Mahindra eKUV100



The Mahindra eKUV100 was launched with an ex-showroom price of ₹8.25 lakh, making it the most affordable EV in the country. The car was first showcased during the Auto Expo 2018 and looks identical to the petrol variant.

The eKUV100 comes with a 40 kW electric motor that is capable of 53 bhp and 120 Nm of peak torque. It is powered by a 15.9 kWh lithium-ion battery that can provide a range of up to 150 km on a single charge.

Upcoming cars from Mahindra

Mahindra Atom

The Mahindra Atom is a quadricycle and has a boxy structure. It was first showcased during the Auto Expo 2018 and is expected to go into production in the second half of 2020. The light-weight car is targeted at city mobility on commercial lines.

Mahindra eXUV300



The Mahindra eXUV300 is built on the existing XUV300 platform. It will be available in two variants – standard and extended range. It has a range of 300 kms and has been designed for personal mobility. The car is powered by a battery developed by Mahindra Electric in association with LG Chem.

The Mahindra eXUV300 will be available only in 2021.

Mahindra Funster concept car

Mahindra also showcased a futuristic concept car dubbed as Funster that has been designed at the company’s Design Studio in Mumbai. It has been built as a convertible roadster and has a top speed of 200 kmph.

As per the company, Funster is a "a thrilling roadster electric concept with a playful convertible mode, nothing short of being an object of desire".
