A sneak preview of Kia Sonet — the latest ‘Made-in-India’ compact SUV car
Kia Motors’ compact SUV, Kia Sonet is all set to make its world premiere today (August 7).

The car, first showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 as a concept, is a fully ‘Made-in-India’ product. And, the company said it would be available in many of the brand’s global markets.

It is expected to be priced around ₹8 lakh - ₹12 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. However, this is not official yet; the company will release more details today during the premiere. Kia dealers have already begun accepting Kia Sonet SUV bookings for a token amount of ₹25,000.

The Kia Sonet comes with sophisticated and user-friendly features such as a two-layer tray to store mobile devices in the dashboard, high-tech digital display and instrument cluster, featuring a first-in-segment 10.25-inch HD touchscreen and navigation system with UVO connected technologies.

“In line with Kia’s distinctive design DNA, the Sonet’s emotive and bold design combines the brand’s signature design traits, including the iconic ‘tiger-nose’ grille, with a three-dimensional ‘stepwell’ geometric grille mesh, making a strong visual impression inspired by Indian architecture. It projects an aggressive stance with a rugged appeal,” the company said in a statement.

The company said the Sonet would feature an extensive list of active and passive safety equipment. The car will come equipped with up to six airbags – offering a class-leading combination of front, side and curtain protection for passengers.
