One of India’s largest automakers, Mahindra and Mahinda, has officially unveiled its much-anticipated SUV, Thar 2020 in India, today.
The next-gen model of Thar, which was first launched in India back in 2010 promises more comfort and convenience, apart from its par excellence driving capabilities.
The car will be available in six different colour options — Red Rage, Mystic Copper, Napoli Black, Aquamarine, Galaxy Grey and Rocky Beige. Booking for Mahindra's Thar 2020 opens on October 2, price details will be announced then.
The launch was expected much earlier in the market this year. However, it was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The car was unveiled today through a live webcast on the official Mahindra Thar website, and its social media handles at 11:00 am.
Similar to its older version the car retains its iconic front-end with a new distinctive front grille flanked by classic round headlamps. Thar’s front fender-mounted LED daytime running lamps to give it extra visual oomph.

The automaker lets you choose between the all-new mStallion150 petrol engine and mHawk130 diesel engine, along with 6-speed automatic and manual transmission options.

The SUV comes with sinister silver 45.72cm R18 alloy wheels wrapped in the largest tyre in its class. The fog lamps ensure clear visibility under any driving conditions.

The car also offers Hard Top Roof to stay sheltered from the elements in the hardest conditions. However, it also extends the option for a manual convertible top of your choice.
