Mahindra Thar competitor Force Gurkha’s new version launches today — All you need to know about the latest SUV

Rival of Mahindra Thar, Force Gurkha’s new version, which was supposed to enter the Indian market in 2020,...

...but got delayed due to BS6 emission norms, has finally launched on Wednesday.

Price

The price of new Force Gurkha can range between ₹9.75 lakhs to ₹13.30 lakhs. Whereas, the price range of its rival Mahindra Thar is ₹12.78 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Colours

The sports utility vehicle (SUV) has been launched in orange, red, forest green, black and white colours.

The exterior

The new Gurkha is longer (124 mm) and wider (22mm) and taller (20 mm) than its predecessor. It also has new round-shaped LED headlamps and new revised chassis and body shell complying with new safety regulations.

Interior design

The new car features a revamped dashboard, a new 7-inch infotainment system and a new instrument cluster with multi-information display.

Safety

The SUV has dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), one-touch lane change indicator and tyre pressure monitoring system.

Engine

The new model is equipped with a 2.6 litre diesel engine, at 91PS and paired with a 5-speed manual transmission|Max Power — 67kw(91hp) @ 3200 rpm | Max Torque — 250 newton metres (Nm) @ 1400-2400 rpm

Comfort and convenience

It has arm rests for captain seats as well as for second row passengers with 3900 litre cabin space and 500 litre luggage space. It also has a dual USB socket on the dashboard as well as for second row passengers.
