The electric two-wheeler market in India is mostly focused on scooters at the moment, with companies like Ola Electric, TVS Motors, Bajaj Auto and Ather dominating the market. The year 2023 has been great for the electric two-wheeler industry as the sales have received a good boost, with companies recording their highest ever sales.

Companies like Ola Electric and Ather launched new variants of their scooters, while Bajaj Auto recently launched a new scooter.

In this post, we look at the electric scooters and bikes expected to launch in India in 2024.

Honda Activa Electric

Honda, India’s leading two-wheeler maker is all set to enter the electric segment, with the launch of the electric version of its popular scooter Activa. The Activa Electric is expected to feature the same design as its ICE counterpart and offer a range of around 100 km on a single charge. It will take on the likes of the TVS iQube and the Bajaj Chetak in the country.

After dominating the electric scooter segment, Ola is all set to foray into the electric bike segment. The company has already teased four electric bikes, which are said will be launched by the end of 2024. This includes the Ola Roadster, Ola Adventure, Ola Diamondhead and Ola Cruiser. The electric bike is expected to be equipped with a swappable battery, allowing users to easily change the battery when they are low on power. The bike is expected to offer a range of up to 150 km on a single charge.

Suzuki, one of the country’s leading two-wheeler companies, is expected to launch an electric variant of its Burgman Street scooter in the country in 2024. The Burgman Street Electric is expected to feature the same design as its internal combustion engine (ICE) variant and is expected to be equipped with a 4kW motor. It’s likely to offer a range of around 100 km on a single charge.

This scooter is expected to focus on practicality and comfort, instead of speed and sporty looks. Along with this, the company is also expected to launch a premium electric scooter with a sporty design.

Bajaj Auto is expected to introduce the KTM E-Duke in India in 2024. The electric bike is expected to be launched in the first half of the year. The bike is expected to be equipped with a 5.5 kW battery and offer 10kW of nominal power. The company’s electric bike is expected to offer a range of up to 100 km on a single charge.
