Auto Expo 2020: Tata relaunches Harrier, showcases Gravitas, HBX and Sierra EV Concept
Tata Motors announced the launch of its updated 2020 Harrier at Auto Expo 2020. It also showcased a 7-seater Gravitas, the pre-production HBX Subcompact SUV and the Sierra Electric SUV concept.

Tata Harrier - and its panoramic sunroof

Tata Motors has updated the Harrier with a BS6 engine and also announced the much-awaited automatic variant. This is a year after the launch of the SUV.

The 2020 Harrier is the first car from the company to offer a panoramic sunroof, joining the likes of Jeep Compass and MG Hector. The BS6 Harrier is priced starting at ₹13.69 lakh and the automatic variant is priced at ₹16.25 lakh.

It sports a 2.0-litre multijet engine capable of developing 170PS of power and 350Nm of torque. It is coupled with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox from Hyundai.

Tata Sierra Electric Concept - a legend reborn

The legendary Tata Sierra has been reborn as the Sierra Electric concept. The company has kept the details of the Sierra under wraps. It is expected to be working on a 1.2-liter petrol engine variant as well as an electric variant.

Just like the old Sierra, the new Sierra Electric concept sports a single-piece side glass that runs into the roof.

Tata Gravitas - Similar to Harrier but more

The Tata Gravitas is a premium SUV and is expected to be available from April 2020. The Gravitas looks similar to the Harrier, but its increased length is visible from the sides. It sports an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, JBL sound system with nine speakers, automatic climate control and a sunroof.

It features an updated BS6 complaint 2.0-litre Kryotec engine that develops 170PS of power and 350Nm of torque. The power is sent via a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission from Hyundai.

Tata HBX - below the Nexon

The Tata HBX is based on the Altroz’s ALFA Arc platform and will be placed below the Tata Nexon in the company’s line-up. The HBX is expected to be equipped with a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine that can develop 86P of power S and 114Nm of torque.

The Tata HBX is expected to be priced upwards of ₹5 lakh and may be launched in the second half of 2020.
