Best selling cars in India in December – Tata Nexon tops the list

Tata Nexon

The Tata Nexon SUV has emerged as the top selling car in India in December 2023. The company sold 15,284 units of the SUV, up from 12,053 cars sold in December 2022.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire has also reported a decent increase in sales year-on-year. The car’s sales increased to 14,012 units in December 2023 from 11,997 in December 2022, a 17 percent increase.

Tata Punch

The Tata Punch, an affordable SUV from Tata Motors is on the third position with a sale of 13,787 cars sold in December 2023, up from 10,586 cars sold in December 2022, an increase of 30 percent.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga

The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has reported a sale of 12,975 cars in December 2023, up from 12,273 in December 2022, a six percent year-on-year increase.

Maruti Suzuki Swift

The Maruti Suzuki Swift, the company’s most popular hatchback, has reported a slight year-on-year decline in sales. The company sold 11,843 cars in December 2023, down from 12,061 cars in December 2022.

Mahindra Scorpio

The Mahindra Scorpio is the next SUV on the list, with a sale of 11,355 cars in December 2023, up from 7,003 cars in December 2022, an increase of 62 percent, recording the highest increase in the list.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno has once again reported a significant year-on-year decline in sales. The company sold 10,669 cars in December 2023, down from 16,932 cars sold in December 2022, a 37 percent year-on-year decrease.

Hyundai Creta

The Hyundai Creta is the ninth car on the list and has emerged as the best-selling car from Hyundai. The company sold 10,383 units of the car in December 2023, up from 8,285 cars sold in December 2022.

Maruti Suzuki Eeco, the affordable van from the company, reported a sale of 10,034 units last in December 2023, down from 10,581 sold in December 2022.
