Kinetic E-Luna launched in India
Kinetic Green has launched the E-Luna electric moped in India. It is the second retro two-wheeler to get revived in an electric form after being discontinued for a long time. Earlier, Bajaj Auto had re-introduced the Chetak in an electric form.

Kinetic Luna – birth and end of production
The Kinetic Luna was launched in 1972 as a 50cc moped by Kinetic Engineering. After nearly three decades, the Luna went out of production in 2000.

Launched to cater to passengers and last mile delivery
As per the company, the E-Luna is aimed at passenger and last mile delivery demands. The company claims it is a multi-purpose vehicle. At present, the moped segment is dominated by TVS, which offers the XL100, a petrol scooter.

Company aims at selling 1 lakh E-Luna by April 2025
Kinetic Green aims to sell 1 lakh E-Luna vehicles by the end of January 2025. The vehicle will likely target customers in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, along with rural areas.

The Kinetic E-Luna is priced at ₹69,990 (ex-showroom) for the X1 variant and ₹74,990 (ex-showroom) for the X2 variant.

The Kinetic E-Luna ditches the pedals that were used in the older Luna. It comes with a dual tubular steel chassis and allows the user to remove the rear seat, making it possible to attach a carrier to transport goods.

The Kinetic E-Luna is currently available in two options – a 1.7kWh battery pack and a 2kWh battery pack, which offer up to 110 km of range on a single charge. A 3kWh option with up to 150 km range will also be launched.

The Kinetic E-Luna is equipped with a digital instrument cluster that offers a distance to empty indicator, a USB charging port and offers three riding modes. It has a payload capacity of 150 kg.
