Minimum public shareholding norms

According to Rule 19A of the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Rules, 1957, listed entities are required to have a minimum public shareholding of 25 percent. As such, promoter holding is capped at 75 percent.

The most-recently listed entity from the Adani group, Adani Wilmar’s promoter holding stood at 87.9 percent at the end of December 2022. It was listed on February 8, 2022 and its current market capitalisation stands at ₹54,424 crore.

The owner of the Manyavar fashion brand has a promoter holding of 84.9 percent and a market capitalisation of ₹27,111 crore. It was listed on the stock exchanges on February 16, 2022.
