Tata Digital’s superapp Tata Neu is the latest player in India’s ecommerce space, which is already occupied by Jeff Bezos’ Amazon, Walmart’s Flipkart and Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance JioMart.
JP Financial noted that Tata Neu sells almost 95 percent of overall e-tailing segments, ranging from electronics to apparel to groceries through brands like Tata CLIQ, Croma and BigBasket. The company is expected to eat into the market share of existing players and here is the team behind this super app:
N Chandrasekaran — chairperson of Tata Sons — formally took charge of Tata Digital as chairperson in April 2022. He previously served as the CEO and MD of TCS.
Pratik Pal, the CEO of Tata Digital was also with TCS as the global head of retail, travel, hospitality, and CPG industry unit.
Mukesh Bansal — the founder of fitness company Curefit and ecommerce brand Myntra — currently holds the position of president at Tata Digital.
Aarthi Subramanian, the Chief Digital Officer at Tata Sons, overlooks all the digital operations of the group.
Hari Menon, the founder and CEO of grocery delivery company BigBasket, is the board member at epharmacy company Tata 1mg.
After his stint at McKinsey, Prashant Tandon founded epharmacy company 1mg which was acquired by Tata Digital last year. He continues to be the CEO of Tata 1mg.
Modan Saha is the CEO of financial services at Tata Digital. He previously led Tata Strategic Management Group (TSMG) as its CEO.
Sauvik Banerjjee is the CTO at Tata Neu, and formerly held the same designation at Tata CLiQ. He had earlier worked at SAP, Accenture and Infosys.
Abhimanyu Lal, the Chief Marketing Officer, Tata Digital was previously the Chief Product Officer at Pepperfry.
