ITC became the seventh largest company on the street
Cigarette to FMCG player overtook HDFC to become the seventh largest company on Indian stock market this week with over ₹5 lakh crore market capitalisation. Its stock hit a 52-week high of ₹409 this week, and gained 22 percent in 2023.

Infosys sixth largest company
Bengaluru based Infosys is the sixth largest company with a market capitalisation of ₹5.09 lakh crore. The stock tanked 19 percent in 2023 so far, amid a global slowdown and a looming recession.

Hindustan Unilever
The FMCG major and subsidiary of the British company Unilever is the fifth largest Indian company with a marketcap of ₹5.87 lakh crore. The stock slipped more than 2 percent this year.

ICICI Bank
The private sector lender is the fourth largest Indian company with a market capitalisation of ₹6.17 lakh crore. The share price of the bank has slipped 1.65 percent in 2023 so far.

SBI and Bharti Airtel near ₹5 lakh crore club
Largest Indian bank State Bank of India and telecom operator Bharti Airtel are nearing ₹5 lakh crore club as their market capitalisation are currently at ₹4.84 lakh crore and ₹4.34 lakh crore respectively. So far in 2023, share price of SBI has slumped 11 percent and that of Bharti Airtel has fallen nearly 6 percent during the period.
