Gold futures gain Rs 154 to Rs 40,910 per 10 gm
New Delhi, Feb 18 () Gold prices on Tuesday rose by Rs 154 to Rs 40,910 per 10 gram in futures trade as speculators widened their bets in line with positive overseas trend.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold contracts for April traded higher by Rs 154, or 0.38 per cent, at Rs 40,910 per 10 gram in a business turnover of 1,434 lots.

The yellow metal for June delivery edged up by Rs 142, or 0.35 per cent, to Rs 41,070 per 10 gram in a business turnover of 68 lots.

Fresh positions built up by participants on positive cues from global markets mainly led to rise in gold prices, analysts said.

Globally, gold prices rose 0.14 per cent to USD 1,588.60 per ounce in New York. VHP SHWSHW
