Guar gum futures gain on positive demand

New Delhi, Apr 28 () Guar gum prices on Tuesday gained over 1 per cent to Rs 4,818 per five quintal in futures trade as speculators increased their holdings on spot demand.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum contracts for May delivery traded higher 1.18 per cent, or Rs 56, to Rs 4,818 per five quintal with an open interest of 26,405 lots.

Likewise, the contracts for delivery in June rose by Rs 58, or 1.21 per cent, to Rs 4,845 per five quintal as open interest stood at 18,950 lots.

Analysts said after tracking firm physical market trend, traders raised their bets which led to rise in guar gum prices. SRS SHWSHW
