Guar gum futures slip on weak spot cues

New Delhi, Mar 23 () Guar gum prices on Monday plunged 4 per cent to Rs 4,897 per five quintal in futures market as traders offloaded their holdings in line with weak trend at the spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum for April delivery fell by Rs 204, or 4 per cent, to Rs 4,897 per five quintal in 39,805 lots.

Guar gum for May delivery eased by Rs 205, or 3.99 per cent, to Rs 4,936 per five quintal in 11,385 lots.

Marketmen said slackness in demand in the spot market and increased supplies from growing regions mainly exerted pressure on guar gum prices. VHP SHWSHW
