Kama Holdings, a mid-cap firm holding company, with interests in education, real estate and investment, is part of the 2022 Burgundy Private Hurun India 500 list of the most valuable companies in India.
Kama Holdings’ three wholly-owned subsidiaries are — Shri Educare Limited, Kama Realty (Delhi) and SRF Transnational Holdings Limited.
According to the report, it has a value of ₹8,388 crore.
Kama Holdings with only three people in its workforce — has also topped the list of least number of employees among the 500 most valuable companies.
An interesting thing about this company is that it has six board members — which is twice the number of working employees.
The company is controlled and run by Arun Bharat Ram and family, who has a net worth of $3.4 billion. His net worth leapfrogged from $1.8 billion in 2021 to $3.4 billion in 2022, according to Forbes.
He is also the chairman of SRF, a specialty chemicals and packaging firm. It has 14 manufacturing plants, including in Thailand and South Africa.
Ram is currently the 859th richest person in the world and 53rd in India, as per the Forbes list.
The price of each Kama Holdings share is ₹14,340. The return on this share has increased by 353 percent in the last five years.
According to its quarterly report, the company recorded a total income of ₹3,919 crore in the September quarter this year.
