Mustard seed futures drop 0.47 pc on soft demand

New Delhi, Feb 28 () Mustard seed prices on Friday dropped by Rs 19 to Rs 3,994 per quintal in futures trade as participants reduced their holdings on sluggish demand.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, mustard seed contracts for April delivery fell by Rs 19, or 0.47 per cent, to Rs 3,994 per quintal in a business turnover of 18,100 lots.

Mustard seed contracts for delivery in May declined by Rs 19, or 0.47 per cent, to Rs 4,018 per quintal in a business turnover of 4,420 lots.

Marketmen said offloading of positions by participants following a weak trend in spot market mainly led to fall in mustard seed prices. VHP SHWSHW
