Mustard seed futures rise on spot demand
New Delhi, Mar 30 () Mustard seed prices on Monday rose by Rs 49 to Rs 4,174 per quintal in futures trade as participants widened their bets amid firm spot demand.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, mustard seed for delivery in April jumped by Rs 49, or 1.19 per cent, to Rs 4,174 per quintal with an open interest of 14,710 lots.

Similarly, the delivery for May went up by Rs 50, or 1.24 per cent, to Rs 4,096 per quintal with an open interest of 17,000 lots.

Marketmen said apart from restricted arrivals from growing belts, demand from oil mills in spot market mainly lifted mustard seed prices here. VHP SHWSHW
