Silver futures slump 1.91 pc on weak global cues

New Delhi, Feb 28 () Silver futures on Friday fell by Rs 880 to Rs 45,300 per kg in futures trade as speculators cut down their bets on a weak global trend.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for March delivery tumbled by Rs 880, or 1.91 per cent, to Rs 45,300 per kg in a business turnover of 2,311 lots.

Besides, the white metal to be delivered in May fell by Rs 900, or 1.93 per cent, to Rs 45,758 per kg in 11,239 lots.

In the international market, silver prices traded 2.71 per cent lower at USD 17.26 an ounce in New York. VHP SHWSHW
