Chennai, Feb 15(): Trade body Confederation of IndianIndustry (CII) on Saturday said the budget presented by TamilNadu Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam would give impetusfor the growth of infrastructure. CII Tamil Nadu state council chairman S Chandramohanwelcomed the budget, saying it was a growth-oriented and aninclusive one. "The budget will give impetus for infrastructural growthby significant allocation of Rs 15,850 crore towards roadprojects which will spur growth of several sectors," hesaid. He said the development of Ponneri Industrial Belt ofChennai-Bengaluru corridor and the Chennai-Tuticorinindustrial corridor was expected to give momentum in thecoming years. He said the government's plan to increase the subsidy forthe NEEDS (New Entrepreneur-cum-Enterprise Development Scheme)(NEEDS)Scheme to Rs 50 lakh would promote entrepreneurship,employment and gowth. The various measures taken by the government on skillstraining, Financial Technology (FINTECH) Centre in Chennaiwould go a long way in retaining and enhancing thecompetitiveness of the state, he said.
